ABOUT
Darryl started playing the bassoon when he was six. He later studied the drums and like everyone else pretended to be able to play the guitar when he went off to University, where he studied screenwriting, giving him a deep understanding of storytelling. He then went on to graduate from the prestigious National Film and Television School with an MA in composition for film.
His first feature film Just Charlie (co-composed with Yann McCullough) has won many awards including the Audience Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
The short animation musical The Song of a Lost Boy for which he wrote the score and diegetic music was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Short Animation in 2021.
His other works include music for contemporary dance and classical ensembles as well as video games, trailers and adverts.
He is working hard at trying to stop referring to himself in the third person.
